This bridge is the longest twin span bridge supposedly in the world. There are 8 lanes, 4 going into Pennsville, NJ and 4 going into New Castle, DE. The first of the two spans was opened for traffic in 1951 and so many vehicles crossed over that they decided to build the second span, which then opened for business in 1968. Current cost for a trip is $3, but you only have to pay that going into Delaware.
