Update Time

I haven't done a personal update about yours truly in quite some time since I've been busy riding the meme fun circuit, so I've decided to toss a few bits of information out to everyone.

Way back a few months ago I decided to "test drive" a pain relieving machine called the TENS Unit. For those unfamiliar with this, it basically sends very low electrical current through electrodes that you stick on your body in the area surrounding the pain you have (my case it's lower back). The good news is that while the unit doesn't magically take all my pain away, and when I use it I'm forced to wear my pants down real low, thus creating my own version of woman "workman's crack," it has definitely lessened the pain and eliminated the strange sudden painful nerve spasms I was suddenly cursed with. Anything I can do to eliminate pain short of selling my soul to you know who (or health insurance companies), is a good thing!

Nothing too exciting to report on the lap-band front, however. Same old issues I've had for the past year, struggling not to get things stuck, but in general still very happy I took the necessary steps to get it done. Sure it's frustrating at times, but it has become a part of me, and I'm cool with it.

In non-medical related news, most of you know that I'm dating Mark from An Eerie Tapestry already and have asked when we're getting back together to see each other, so the official news is that it looks as if he'll be returning at the end of May so he can join me in attending two book related conventions in New York City. But plans haven't been solidified as of yet, so there's still a chance I may end up there for an extended stay. I'll keep you posted of course.

Also on the good news related front...it's going to be a year at the end of this month that I've moved out of my home and am renting it. I'm happy to report that despite the rocky beginning with some minor related house fixing up necessities to be completed, the year has gone by well and the renters are excellent. Here's hoping for a few more years of good renting!

Ten Things That Make Me Happy

1. Being loved by the important people in my life.

2. My dogs - especially when they're sleeping peacefully next to me and not barking wildly

3. Even though I'm stuck home not able to work, I'm happy to now have time to enjoy the fun in life like reading, traveling.

4. Being able to walk despite having major back problems.

5. Happy that I found a job as a book reviewer, even though it doesn't pay much, it's better than nothing.

6. When there's warm sunny weather, great white fluffy clouds, and no humidity.

7. When my computer and other electronics work and does what they were invented to do.

8. The color purple - if you haven't noticed this yet

9. When things go my way! (who doesn't like when this happens?)

10. I'm rather proud of myself for FINALLY being able to say this - I am happy that I got a divorce, and am finally through all the pain. It was the best worst thing that could have happened to me, since now I can move on to a healthier life with someone who loves and respects me.

I'm going to be a big meanie and only bestow this award on a select three...

12. How many drafts of potential blog posts do you have right now?

I've got three drafts at the moment, sometimes quite a bit more.

13. In what medium do you draft your posts?

99% of the time I just use the writer on blogger unless I need to be fancy about it then I'll pop over to a write program on my computer.

14. How often do you completely scratch or delete drafts or blog post ideas?

I change my mind quite often and end up leaving drafts idle for a while or ditching it altogether.

15. If you had to leave your blog in your will to another blogger, who would you choose?

I wouldn't leave it to my bf (sorry, Mark) since he's being a naughty blogger on his own blog by not posting often...but honestly, I'd not will it to anyone - it's my life and creations. But I'd hope whomever is still around after I move onto the great blog arena in the sky, they'd at least let people know I moved on.

16. Are there other blogs that you feel are similar to yours in content, style, or voice?

There are lots of blogs with humor, pictures and littered with random ramblings - you probably have one of your own if you're reading this, right?

17. Has anything surprised you since you started blogging?

I'm surprised at how many people want to follow all my almost daily drivel and silliness.

18. What are your goals or plans for your blog going forward?

At this point all I'm planning for this blog is to keep it going, and continue to have fun with it.

19. Do you make any money from your blog? (optional) about how much a month?

Nope, it's all free blood sweat and tears.

Blogger

21. How did you come up your blog name?

Back when I first started this blog, I felt a bit "rough" after going through tons of issues in my life, so I thought "a blog in the rough," would be a neat name as a play on words.

22. How many blogs do you have? What was your peak?

I've got two blogs, this one of course, and a book reviewing blog - DelGal's Book Reviews. I don't think I've peaked with either blogs.

23. Are you having as much fun as when you started?

Even more so because when I first started I was just writing to myself for posts on end.

24. Where do you find other bloggers like you?

They're everywhere, just "blog it, and they will come."

25. What’s your one wish when it comes to blogging?

I wish to continue entertaining people, and who knows maybe become rich and famous? Hey, I can dream.
